Elsa Cochard

Gemmology-trained, four years in fine and bespoke jewellery, and four years running production, suppliers and stock for an independent brand. Looking for production and operations work in the jewellery trade.

What I bring

Two halves of the same job. The trade knowledge from four years in fine jewellery, and the production and supplier side from building a brand that had to actually ship.

Gemmology
Levels 1 & 2, National Institute of Gemmology, Paris. Formal training in diamonds and coloured stones — identification, grading and handling.
Workshop coordination
Bespoke commissions run from first brief to final delivery, working with goldsmiths and external workshops in Hatton Garden and beyond.
Quality control
Inspecting work returned from workshops — engraving, re-tipping, repairs — against the brief, and deciding what passed and what went back.
Hallmarking
Pieces taken to the assay office and tracked through to return, with the documentation that goes with them.
Production & suppliers
Four years managing overseas manufacturers for an independent apparel brand: specification, tech packs, sampling, approvals, quality checks and delivery timelines.
Stock & records
A 227-SKU catalogue kept accurate — product data, stock levels, goods in and out, purchase orders and supplier administration.
Design & drawing
Applied arts and interior design training. Design sketching, technical specification packs, and production artwork in Adobe Illustrator.
Languages
English and French, fluent in both, written and spoken.
Work examples coming shortly

Three short case studies from the production side — a run I managed, a supplier problem I solved, and a quality issue I caught — plus CAD pieces as I finish them.
